This may be the first time you are reaching out for support and I understand how scary and vulnerable that can feel. It’s important to me that you find the right fit, even if it’s not with me and I want you to feel safe and comfortable. This is why I offer a 15 minute phone consultation so you can get a better idea of what working together might look like. During this time I want to hear some of your concerns and to ask any questions you may have. I’ll also share a little about me, how I practice, and if it feels like a good place to start we’ll schedule our first session together.

I do! If you are located in the Cleveland area I have an office located in Northeast Cleveland. However, I also offer telehealth services across Ohio and Arizona.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a typ eof therapy that helps your brain “unstick” from overwhelming or painful experiences. During EMDR we use gentle side to side movements or tapping with your hands while you think of a memory connected to a present concern that we chose to work on. For example, you may be struggling with feeling stuck in your fertility treatments and we may choose to work on a particular memory of a difficult appointment or loss. This creates a natural healing process in the brain that helps you to feel less emotionally charged or overwhelmed and also creates a new perspective of yourself and how you get through hard moments!

Infertility and pregnancy loss is a very painful, stressful experience. This can lead to your brain and body going into a fight or flight response that feels like it never turns off. You might notice:
Feeling anxious and like you can never relax or turn off your thoughts about pregnancy, what’s happening with your cycle, or a prior loss.
Blaming yourself or feeling like your body is broken and has betrayed you.
You would like to make space for hope, joy, and connection even in the middle of trying and/or healing.
Feeling like you’re holding your breath all of the time
Carrying a constant sense of worry, guilt, or fear.
Experiencing cycles of hope and excitement followed by crashes of anxiety, grief, or panic about each new cycle or treatment.
Your whole identity has become about trying to conceive and you’ve lost site of yourself.
Over time these emotional and physical reactions build up and can make it harder to cope. It also can make it harder for your body to feel safe. All of this can contribute to feeling like you’re trying so hard but your wheels are spinning.

I am an out of network provider, meaning that you will self-pay for each session and then I can provide you with a superbill upon your request for possible reimbursement from your insurance provider.
-
Dealing with insurance can feel daunting! This is why I have the steps broken down for you to make it easy:
Contact the customer service line on the back of your card
Tell the representative that you would like to know what your out of network coverage is for behavioral health/mental health services
Here are some helpful questions to ask:
Do I have a mental or behavioral health policy with out of network benefits?
Is pre-approval required before I can receive out of network services?
Do I have an out of network deductible, and if so has that deductible been met or how much further do I need go to meet it?
What is my reimbursement rate per therapy session?
How do I submit a claim/superbill for reimbursement?
Your insurance company may ask for billing codes. Common codes we may use include:
(90791): Initial Assessment
(90837): Individual Therapy Session
I have found this article to be very helpful! As well as this article, which explains how out of network services are beneficial.

The first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, to discuss your needs and concerns for working together, and to get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit. During this time we’ll complete an intake and gather history and information that helps me to understand pieces of your story and what’s meaningful to you! From this we’ll create goals for working together.
-
This is totally dependent on your needs. I encourage people to attend weekly or bi-weekly to help maintain consistency. I find that if we go for longer gaps between sessions we end up using time to catch up, and I want this time to be meaningful and productive for you! We will always discuss any needs for frequency changes throughout treatment as needed, especially if I am sensing progress with your goals and readiness to reduce sessions!
